About

As John 00 Fleming brilliantly explained in his introduction to the magnificent Essential Mix  that he delivered the 13th February 2010, the meaning of Trance seems to have "got lost in translation in the last few years".

What is being commonly recognized as Trance today is mainstream dance music full of catchy melodies and minutes long "hands in the air" buildups and breakdowns, a washed derivation of the genre that emerged in the early 90ies from underground German raves.

Did Trance music lose the ability to induce an altered state of consciousness or are there artists out there that still use Trance sounds effectively without recycling the same boring patterns and commercial catchy melodies?

This blog will try to convince you that good Trance music is still produced and released. Enough with the whiny attitude about the Trance that was, now it's time to act. Help us make this blog the reference for the real Trance music!

In more practical terms this Trance music blog was created to  :

1) Raise the awareness of the true Trance artists and increase the exposure of this alternative face of Trance

2) Help Trance fans find good Trance tracks that unfortunately are not promoted by other websites and are only known among the most passionate genre listeners

3) Share reviews and suggestions about the newly released singles, EP, albums and sets that deserve to be part of the collection of a true Trance fan.
